The Green Lake is the take off point for mountainerring expedition to the peakes of Kanchanzonga ranges. "The hollow basin enclosed between the converging moraines of the Zemu and Green Lake glaciers has been very lately a lake and was now a lake basin" as Douglas W Freshfield writes in his book.

The absence of lake is sufficiently companciated by splendid views around just at the foot of big mass the Khanchanzonga, beautiful peaks of mt. Simvo are just on top of you beside herds of blue sheep and couple of musk deer.

Day 01 : Fly to Biratnagar and drive to Gangtok 5hrs drive.
Day 02 : Gangtok sight seeings Rumtek monastry, Tibetology, flower festivels.
Day 03 : Gangtok to Lachen 2800mts 5hrs drive.
Day 04 : Lachen to Talem 8kms 3200mts.
Day 05 : Talem to Jakthang 5kms 3300mts.
Day 06 : Jakthang to Yabuk 8kms 3900mts.
Day 07 : Yabuk to Restcamp 7kms 4550mts.
Day 08 : Restcamp to Green Lake 5kms 5090mts.
Day 09 : Green Lake to Yabuk 11kms.
Day 10 : Yabuk to Talem 13kms.
Day 11 : Talem to Lachen trek Lachen to Singhik 3hrs drive.
Day 12 : Singhik to Gangtok via Phodong Monastry and Labrang Monastry.
Day 13 : Gangtok to Delhi/ Kathmandu/kolkata etc.
